A dedication from Francis to Ellie
Similar to Australia’s famed Penfold’s Grange, Eleanor is a robust red blend that combines fruit from both of the Coppola properties. We blended Zinfandel, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grown in Rutherford with Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to create a unique bottling that is very long lived with exceptional depth and complexity. Now that we’re on our third vintage of Eleanor we’re starting to get a handle on what type of oak and maturation techniques work best for this wine, and we’ll continue to experiment with different barrels and fermentation methods to explore the aesthetic evolution of this wine.
