Limited production wines showcasing the uniqueness of Sonoma County.
Our Reserve Viognier originates from Catie's Corner Vineyard, a Russian River Valley vineyard comprised of sandy clay loam soils. This vineyard experiences diurnal temperature variations that can create a day-to-night temperature difference of as much as 50 degrees. This phenomenon allows the fruit to ripen more slowly and develop an optimal balance, which ultimately creates a more layered, complex wine. As a result, our Viognier strikes a lovely balance between rich, ripe fruit, and crisp natural acidity, which is often hard to achieve in warmer climates.
The 2016 vintage offers the best of both worlds, showing pretty floral notes, juicy fruits, hints of baking spice, and crisp mineral qualities. An alluring fragrance of lemon, pineapple, wet stones, and honeysuckle gives way to succulent flavors of peach, tangerine, and guava. Beautifully balanced by vibrant natural acidity, elegant mineral character evolves on a grand, lengthy finish.
