“Sei Querce” is Italian for “six oaks,” a name given to the vineyard in honor of the six major species of oak found in North America. The vineyard is in Geyserville, tucked into the Mayacamas mountain range, with elevations ranging from 200 ft to 1000 ft above sea level. The vineyard blocks from which the 2019 Francis Coppola Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced are comprised of a mix of alluvium with rocky and sandy loam. Sei Querce is part of the Climate Adaptation Program, a pilot program to reduce greenhouse gases and the sequestration of carbon and is certified sustainable.

2019 was the first time that California has been 100% drought-free since 2011. Winter and spring rains provided sufficient water in the soil through midsummer. The vintage provided us with a mild growing season, and an average crop, in terms of quantity. Quality, however, remained outstanding.
