100% barrel aged for a minimum of 18 months in both French and American oak, followed by 6 months of bottle aging.

“Flowing with a supple and rich body, aromas of lavender, black currant and black cherry preface flavors of plum, mocha and violet on the palate. Round velvety tannins provide structure, leading to a lingering, persistent finish.”

The 2020 Francis Coppola Reserve Petite Sirah revisits fruit from the Bevill-Wolcott Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. The wine is savory, dark and brooding, with inky concentration and tantalizing aromas of black fruit, dry-cured olives and pipe tobacco. Rich flavors of blackberry pie, cigar box and mocha create decadent layers of powerful flavor. Petite Sirah is renowned for its intense color and firm tannins, making it a valuable blending tool in the winery, but the Bevill-Wollcott Vineyard’s savory notes and subtle black fruit make it a standout and an age-worthy single vineyard bottling.

Aged for 20 months in French oak.

Gorgeous aromas of kirsch and blackberries mingle with notes of toffee and Chinese “five spice,” the wine overflows with flavor intensity. Nuances of figs, currants, cinnamon sticks and toasted wood. Enjoy our dessert wine with sweets such as dulce de leche, flourless chocolate cake or flambéed cherry crepes. Or pair with strong cheeses like Stilton and aged Gouda.”

The 2021 vintage started off cold and dry. Initially inconsistent weather patterns created a lighter crop, but mild to warm weather later provided perfect conditions to develop concentration and flavor. Overall, a very nice harvest producing beautifully layered wines.
