Winemaker Notes

The 2021 vintage started off cold and dry. Initially inconsistent weather patterns created a lighter crop, but mild to warm weather later provided perfect conditions to develop concentration and flavor. Overall, a very nice harvest producing beautifully layered wines.

Vineyard Notes

We frequently source from the esteemed Dutton Ranch because their exceptionally well cared for vines consistently produce the most expressive Chardonnay. These selections benefit from the diurnal condition afforded by a coastal climate, where day and nighttime
temperatures experience a 30–40˚ difference. Not only does this allow the fruit to ripen slowly and accumulate concentration, but it also helps the grapes retain a better amount of natural acidity – an essential component in crafting a complex Chardonnay.
